María Luisa Palmero Colado

Earned her degree in veterinary medicine at the Complutense University of Madrid in 1994. She is a partner and cofounder of Gattos veterinary clinic, a hospital in Madrid specialising exclusively in cats. In 2016, she became a University Specialist in Endoscopy and Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Jesús Usón Minimally Invasive Surgery Centre, University of Cáceres. María Luisa is certified in feline medicine (2012) by the Spanish Small Animal Veterinary Association (AVEPA) and holds the General Practitioner Certificate in Feline Practice (2011) from the European School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ESVPS). She also completed the Feline Internal Medicine Course (online) at the University of Sydney’s Centre for Veterinary Education, again in 2011. She is a member of the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM), AVEPA, the Madrid Small Animal Veterinary Association (AMVAC), and sits on the scientific committee for AVEPA’s Working Group of Specialists in Feline Medicine (GEMFE).

María Luisa teaches the postgraduate course on feline medicine at CEU Cardinal Herrera University, as well as other postgraduate courses for IFEVET and in Chile and Argentina.

She is coauthor of the books Vaccines in Small Animals, published in 2019, Inmunología clínica del gato (Clinical Immunology in Cats) (2019), and Enfermedades infecciosas felinas (Infectious Diseases in Cats) (2010). She has also published clinical cases and original articles on general feline medicine and internal medicine in both Spanish and international journals. María Luisa often gives lectures and presentations at both Spanish and international conferences and institutions. Her main areas of interest are internal medicine and diagnostic imaging.
